Dive Komodo

Declared a World Heritage Site in 1991 and one of the New Seven Wonders of World in 2011, Komodo National Park is located in the centre of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores. The park covers more than 1,800 km2 of which about a third is land area. The biggest islands are Komodo and Rinca, where the famous Komodo Dragons can be seen. Each of our 4 and 8 night trips will include a trek on one of these islands to see these almost prehistoric beast of legend. The Park is dotted with 27 other smaller islands, the park offers stunning white beaches and calm bays ideal for snorkelling,, wake boarding and other water sports. These isolated areas are perfect for relaxing during the day and indulging in a beach BBQ, under a star filled night sky.
The diving is also world class offering an excess of exciting, challenging and rewarding dive sites, presenting a spectacle of underwater topography, teaming with marine life, which our experienced DM’s will lead you safely round, showing off the 260 species of coral, 70 species of sponges, over 1,000 species of fish, along with marine reptiles, dolphins, whales, turtles, manta and dugong.
Komodo National Park feels like a destination that has been forgotten by time.

Travel Info

Travelers arriving into Indonesia must have a minimum of a 6-month validity left on their passports. Citizens of most countries can obtain visa-on-arrival at their first point-of-entry in Indonesia (USD 25 for 30 days, extendable for another 30 days).  Certain nationalities, however, are required to obtain a visa from the Indonesian Embassy in their home countries before travel to Indonesia.

Due to the remoteness of diving destination, we strongly advise our guests to take good travel insurance that includes emergency medical evacuation, baggage loss/damage, and cancellation policy. A valid dive accident insurance (such as DAN) must be carried by divers on our liveaboard.

Consult your physician for necessary vaccinations prior to your travel to Indonesia. Malaria risk is present in some parts of the country, particularly In Papua. Take precautions with malaria prophylactics (malarone and doxicycline are recommended), but avoid the use of Lariam due to its side-effects and ineffectiveness in the region. Booster injections for intestinal diseases, Hepatitis A and B are also highly recommended.
